Beyond the Box

The story starts before they open it

A great PR kit doesn't just hold a product or piece of content. It creates a moment.

We start with the story behind the launch—what you're announcing, who is receiving it and what you want them to experience when it arrives.

Then we figure out how to translate that story into a box worth keeping.

That might mean a custom rigid box with an unexpected reveal. A mailer inspired by a show. Integrated lighting, sound or video. Custom merchandise. Hidden compartments. A structure that transforms when opened.

The concept can be simple or completely unexpected. Our job is to make sure the idea can actually be engineered, produced, packed and shipped.

If you can imagine it, we'll figure out how to build it

Some projects start with a fully developed creative direction. Others start with a sentence: "We want to do something no one has seen before."

Both are welcome.

Our team combines creative development with structural engineering and production knowledge, which means we're thinking about the idea and how it will actually work at the same time.

Concept + Engineering + Production

Creative ideas that can actually be produced

The creative idea is only half of the equation.

A PR kit also has to survive production, assembly, fulfillment and shipping—and arrive looking the way it was intended.

Because Salt & Pepper Gifts manages the process from concept through delivery, structural decisions are made with production and logistics in mind from the beginning.

We think about how products fit, how the package opens, how materials behave, how the recipient experiences each layer and how everything will ultimately be packed and shipped.

The result is a concept that isn't just beautiful in a rendering. It works in real life.

From Brief to Delivery

How we build a custom PR kit

  1. The Brief

Tell us about the campaign, audience, products, quantity, budget, desired in-hand date and anything you already know about the creative direction.

  2. Concept & Creative Direction

We determine how the story can translate into a physical experience and develop the packaging direction around the campaign.

  3. Structural Design & Engineering

The packaging is engineered around the actual contents. We determine size, structure, materials, compartments, inserts and any interactive components required.

  4. Sampling & Approval

Depending on the project, samples can be created to confirm construction, sizing, product placement and presentation before production.

  5. Production

Once everything is approved, the packaging and custom components move into production.

  6. Assembly & Fulfillment

Our team kits, assembles and prepares each completed PR package for shipment.

  7. Delivery

We can ship completed kits directly to press, media, talent, influencers, clients, agencies or other recipients using a provided distribution list.

Built for launches, campaigns & big moments

Salt & Pepper Gifts partners with brands and creative teams across entertainment, beauty, wellness, spirits, fashion, technology and consumer products.

We also work directly with PR agencies, creative agencies, studios, networks and internal marketing teams that need a production partner capable of taking an ambitious idea from concept through fulfillment.

PR kits, press mailers & influencer kits—what's the difference?

The terms overlap, and many campaigns include more than one audience.

A PR kit or press mailer is often created around a launch, announcement, premiere, awards campaign or publicity moment and may be sent to editors, media, talent, press, creators or industry partners.

Influencer mailers and seeding kits tend to focus more specifically on creator outreach, product discovery and social campaigns.

Salt & Pepper Gifts creates both. The format, packaging and experience are developed around the objective of the campaign rather than a predefined type of box.
