Custom Packaging & Custom Boxes

We don't start with a box. We start with what needs to go inside it.

Salt & Pepper Gifts designs and produces custom packaging built around your product, your brand and the experience you want to create.

From luxury rigid boxes and corrugated mailers to completely custom structures, inserts and interactive packaging, our team handles concept, structural design, sampling, production and fulfillment from start to finish.

Built Around Your Product

Custom means custom

Great packaging isn't created by choosing a box first and figuring out how to make the product fit later.

We work the other way around.

We start with the actual products, dimensions, quantity, budget, timeline and desired experience. Then we determine the structure, materials, inserts and construction that make the most sense.

Sometimes the answer is a beautifully executed rigid box. Sometimes it's corrugated. Sometimes it's a completely custom structure that doesn't have a standard name.

The goal isn't to make the most complicated box.

It's to build the right one.

Packaging Capabilities

What we build

Premium Packaging

Custom rigid boxes

Rigid boxes are one of our most requested packaging styles when presentation matters.

Unlike folding cartons, rigid boxes are constructed from substantial board and maintain their finished shape. They can be wrapped in custom printed or specialty papers and paired with custom inserts, compartments, hardware and closures.

Depending on the project, rigid packaging can include magnetic closures, hinged lids, two-piece constructions, drawers, ribbon pulls, specialty papers and custom interior structures.

Our team develops the structure around the products going inside so sizing, placement and presentation are considered together.

What's Inside Matters Too

Custom inserts & product presentation

The insert isn't an afterthought.

It determines how the products sit, what the recipient sees first and how each item is removed from the package.

We engineer inserts and internal structures around the actual products so everything has a purpose and a place.

Depending on the project, this can include custom compartments, platforms, trays, inverted boxes, dividers and other structural solutions.

We don't automatically default to foam. The right solution depends on the products, structure, budget and desired presentation.

It's all in the details

Beyond Print

Packaging can do more than open

Some projects call for more than print and paper.

Salt & Pepper Gifts has experience incorporating interactive components into packaging, including lighting, audio, video screens and dimensional elements.

These features are developed as part of the overall structure so the technology, products and packaging work together rather than feeling added on afterward.

From Product to Production

How custom packaging gets made

  1. Start With the Products

We begin with what is actually going inside the package. Product dimensions, quantity, weight and orientation affect almost every structural decision.

  2. Define the Direction

We review your goals, references, brand, budget, timeline and desired opening experience.

  3. Structural Design

The box and internal structure are developed around the contents.

  4. Prototype & Sample

Depending on the project, samples can be produced to evaluate sizing, construction, product placement and functionality before full production.

  5. Artwork & Finishes

Once the structure is established, artwork and finishing details are applied to the approved packaging direction.

  6. Production

Following final approvals, the packaging moves into production.

  7. Assembly & Fulfillment

If needed, Salt & Pepper Gifts can also receive products, assemble finished kits and fulfill individual shipments.

Packaging in the Wild

Ideas made physical

Design that understands production

A beautiful rendering doesn't mean much if the package can't actually be manufactured.

Our creative and production processes work together from the beginning.

We're thinking about materials, tolerances, product fit, assembly, shipping and budget while the packaging is being developed—not after the design is finished.

That allows us to push creative ideas while still designing something that works in the real world.
